Major Public Art Exhibition in UK -
Billed as “one of the most ambitious public art projects to be billed in the UK,” the inaugural Flokestone Triennial will run for 91 days commencing June 14, 2008. Folkestone is a Town on the Kent Coast, 66 miles from London and 22 miles from France and is home to numerous artists.
The works to be displayed were specially created for public spaces throughout the Town.

Although many of us consider public art to be sculptures or similar works, students at Bowdoin College in Maine will be exhibiting a set of works designed to be anything but static. Tonight, May 2, 2008, students will reveal, celebrate and honor the nude body in ways designed to physically engage the viewer with the work. For example, one project is a life-sizeed photograph of a nude body with the face cut out so that viewers can place their own face into the work. This year's Exhibition, entitled "Exposure" is in some ways a response to an Exhibition held a year ago entitled "Corpus." Unlike Corpus, Exposure is an attempt to display the human body in all of its diverse forms. It is hoped by the participants that Exposure will help address the unhealthy image surrounding the body, which American culture promotes.

The "Exposure" opening is tonight from 8 to 11 p.m. in Fort Andross (Bowdoin College), 14 Maine Street, Brunswick, ME.

I want to thank everyone who voted for me! Your support means a lot! A big thank you to Alan and the moderators of this group too, for giving us artists such great competitions!
I am still at the resort for the weekend (maybe longer) and met a wonderful couple late yesterday afternoon, while taking a walk. They stay here permanently and offered their internet provider for me to use during my stay! We did a few setting changes and now I am up, using the wireless connection on my laptop! Such a great gesture!
I’ll tell you more about them and the resort later. Hope you all are still enjoying Easter!
Regards

Major Public Art Collection to Expand.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, home to one of the Nation’s oldest and largest public art programs, has announced it will acquire an additional $3 Million of artwork as part of a billion-dollar automated train project set to open in 2013. Considering that Sky Harbor has 42 million passengers per year, the art works have the potential to be seen by more visitors than are going to traditional museums. For example, New York’s Metropolitan is visited by roughly 5 million people per year and the Louvre is seen by about 8 million.
